1.5 E (2014)
Bought new, Owned for 10 Years
Fuel Economy: 15.0 km/litre (6.7 L/100 km), RON95, Mileage: 1,500 km/month
    1) Very Fuel Efficient (I'm getting 14-16 km/l for mixed driving)
    2) Really spacious & comfortable back seats. Although the Nissan Almera might seem to have more rear legroom, the seat recline angle is much better in the Honda City.
    3) Ergonomic front seats & driving position, even for those who are tall or relatively 'healthier' in size.
    4) Smooth & refined engine. It's the most powerful as well among the B-Segment sedans. Even with full load, the car doesn't struggle to climb hilly roads.
    5) Easy to find spare parts and accessories.
    6) The aircond is really cold! And in the past 9 years of using, never once I had to top up the gas or repair anything.
    7) I really like meter/instrument cluster. Very easy to read and the blue accent lights which turn to green to indicate 'Eco' driving is pretty neat as well.
    1) Build quality, fit and finish is not up to the mark. There are panel gaps, dashboard rattles since day 1.
    2) Body paint quality is also poor, can be easily chipped.
    3) Reverse sensor is bound to fail too often, even after replacement
    4) Interior dashboard design is quite basic, nothing too fancy or exciting (except for maybe the instrument cluster).
    5) Lots of hard plastics and piano black materials which easily gets scratched.
    6) Ground clearance quite low, and together with the soft suspension, the car gets scrapped a lot when going over speed bumps.
    7) Honda service centre is a bit of a hit or miss. And the service costs are not as cheap as people perceive it to be. Major service can cost up to RM900.
    8) Safety system is basic and outdated
    9) Stock tyre profile (175/65/15) is horrendous looking for this car, it was the first thing I changed after buying the car.
To improve
1) Improve service center - Be more transparent with the parts used and those that need to be replaced. Once, my car battery died just 3 days after servicing at Honda SC despite the technician advising me the battery is in good health. 2) Improve the fit and finish for CKD models. 3) A bit harder suspension / higher ground clearance to avoid getting scraped at pothole or speed bumps 4) Powered driver seat would be a great bonus.
Yes, I would recommend this car
