120i M Sport (2016)
Bought used, Owned for 4 Years
Fuel Economy: 17.0 km/litre (5.9 L/100 km), RON95, Mileage: 800 km/month
    - A driver centric car
    - Affordable used car pricing
    - Last gen RWD 1 Series
    - 4 cylinder
    - Responsive pedal with decent power delivery
    - Handles very well
    - Stylish yet distinctive exterior design
    - Lots of tuning and modification options
    - Reasonable maintenance fee
    - Decent fuel efficiency
    - Common BMW oil leaking issues, any parts that can leak.. it will eventually leak.
    - Plastic parts reliability issues
    - The ticking time bomb aka timing chain issue
    - No power boot lift
To Improve
The new m135i F40 will arguably be the improved version - four-wheel drive system and torquey four-cylinder 2.0-litre turbo.
Yes, I would recommend this car

118i M Sport (2017)
Bought new, Owned for 1 Year
Fuel Economy: 13.5 km/litre (7.4 L/100 km), RON97, Mileage: 2,500 km/month
    1. Decent acceleration from low speeds or standstill (good low-end torque).
    2. Excellent handling with minimal body roll during sharp corners (probably due to M Sport suspension).
    3. Rigid chassis.
    4. Car feels solidly-built, with good build-quality, inside and out.
    5. Sharp and communicative steering; always puts a smile on my face!
    6. Stylish design, yet not too ‘flashy’, in my opinion.
    7. Stable at high cruising speeds, for such a compact car.
    8. Eight-speed ZF transmission.
    9. That M Sport Blue exterior!
    1. Sound-proofing rather poor for what’s considered a luxury hatch.
    2. M Sport suspension can be rather firm over bumpy roads.
    3. Limited rear passenger space.
    4. Engine lacks grunt at higher speeds.
To Improve
1. Improve sound-proofing for the 1- and 3-series (I also test-drove the 320i and 330e).
2. Why did you drop the 120i?!
Yes, I would recommend this car
